A Secret Sense of Rhythm : A Secret Sense of Sin is a six-CD deep dive into the labyrinthine world of ZTT-era Propaganda. A definitive collection and the perfect follow-up to ‘The Eight Testaments’ four-vinyl box set released for Record Store Day back in 2019.

What does the Long Live Vinyl gold label signify? It means that whoever or whatever it’s awarded to is the best it possibly could be. So if that’s a record store, it’s one you absolutely have to visit in your lifetime. If it’s a release or a reissue, it’s one that you absolutely won’t be disappointed by. In short, unmissable!
A Secret Sense… is actually not an entirely exhaustive record of Propaganda’s Zang Tumb Tuum era. The live tracks taped at the infamous Value of Entertainment show in 1985 – mixed and released digitally for ZTT’s 40th anniversary a couple of years ago – are notable by their absence. Presumably at the group’s behest, as there’s certainly enough space on Disc Six to have included them.
But of the many gems we do have is the first-ever release of the Dr Mabuse edit for John Hughes’ Some Kind of Wonderful movie. Yes, the version included on the much-trumpeted Life Moves Pretty Fast: The John Hughes Mixtapes compilation was incorrect. The Secret Sense version is exactly as used in the movie.
So, to celebrate, we’ve taken the liberty of syncing up the track to the original film footage for you to enjoy here…
