Not everyone is set to have a very merry Christmas this year. As temperatures across the UK are seen to plummet, it’s easy to draw inside without sparing a thought for those who might not have a home. The expanding homelessness crisis, now more apparent than ever on the streets of London, is an indication that we all need to come together to do our bit.
This is where Crisis steps in, their members working fervently round the clock to provide shelter, care and advice, as well as a friendly face at Christmas time to those on the streets who are often overlooked. Their work is essential, but it can’t happen at all without proper funding.
That’s where Disco Heat comes in, a carefully curated evening of music and boogieing launched to raise crucial funds so that Crisis might go on doing their best work.
Musically, Disco Heat brings together a first class lineup with none other than dance music boffin, deep digging DJ, author, journalist and bastion of classy party sounds Bill Brewster bringing the knowledge. He has been doing his do for decades and is one of the most in demand names in the game for good reason.
Then comes Faze Action, who have long been lighting up the disco landscape with their cosmic live shows and funkalicious basslines, fusing together all styles of disco old and new into fantastic soundtracks that span the eras. Add in Alfresco presents Logan Fisher & 7″s of bliss, Jay Carder, Size Doesn’t Matter, Linden C (Mi-Soul) and Gerrardo and you have every part of the disco spectrum covered in style.
Further brands offering support on the night include Disco Disco, the house and disco rave hot off the back of a summer residency at Pikes Ibiza and 93 Feet East in Shoreditch. Joining them is Mi Soul Radio – the biggest and best radio station for lovers of soul, disco, funk, dance, house, garage, reggae, hip hop and all things in between and has been since it was founded by the original founders of KissFM in 2011. Finally, Alfresco Festival, the cultural party for all the family that brings underground acts to a boutique location in the woods will also be providing beats on the night.
