Record Store Day UK have launched a nationwide talent search, giving the UK’s best unsigned bands the chance to have their music pressed to vinyl, in association with Sound Performance & DIY Mag.
The one-off prize not only includes 500 copies of the chosen record pressed to vinyl, but the winning act will also receive a one-year distribution deal with Proper Music.
Sound Performance, a leading CD and vinyl manufacturer, have teamed up with Record Store Day and DIY Magazine and are running an exciting, nationwide competition for unsigned artists and bands – #RSDUnsigned
Entering couldn’t be easier, just go to www.soundperformance.co.uk/rsdunsigned and follow the instructions on submitting your music. Entrants must showcase their original work in a video that is no more than one minute long.
The competition is open until 19 March soundperformance.co.uk/rsdunsigned and shortlisted entries will have their videos viewed by a panel of record lovers including Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), Sarah Jamieson (Editor at DIY Magazine), Phil Barton (Sister Ray Records) and Chris Marksberry (MD at Sound Performance). The winner will be announced on 18 April.
This year’s Record Store Day takes place on 21 April.
