What do Black Sabbath, Queen, The Stone Roses, Oasis, Coldplay, Simple Minds, Robert Plant and the Manic Street Preachers all have in common?
Rockfield is the answer; a recording studio on a farm in Wales, run by two farming brothers with a dream. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, they successfully landed Rockfield on the map, turning it into one of the most successful residential recording studios of all time. Hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Wonderwall, I Am The Resurrection and If You Tolerate This were recorded within its walls.
Now director Hannah Berryman is bringing the tale of Rockfield into the spotlight with the help of a star studded ensemble cast. The documentary follows brothers Kingsley and Charles Ward and the story of how they transformed their dairy farm into a studio producing four decades of legendary rock music.
The feature-length documentary – Rockfield: The Studio On The Farm – is set for its World Premiere at SXSW on 16 March 2020.
