Biffy Clyro release new single 'Instant History'

A new album is set to follow later this year…

Biffy Clyro

Biffy Clyro have returned with a brand new single Instant History  which is the first track to preview from their eighth upcoming studio album. Though this isn’t is the first music the band have released since their chart-topping 2016 album Ellipsis – they’ve released MTV Unplugged: Live At Roundhouse and the soundtrack to Balance Not Symmetry in the meantime – the new single is a welcomed return.

Produced by the Grammy-winning Rich Costey (Foo Fighters, Muse, The Killers), Instant History is packed with cinematic synths and bold vocal harmonies. Band frontman Simon Neil said in a press release: “This time around we wanted to lead with something that was the most out there thing which we’ve got on the record. Instant History is the biggest, most slammest pop moment we’ve ever worked on. It’s a fantastic opening statement, although musically it doesn’t reflect the album’s direction. But thematically it’s a good pointer for what the album is about: learning from mistakes and realising how you can move things forward.”
