Psychedelic Porn Crumpets release new music video

The new animated music video comes at the end of a strong year for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, who’ve gone from strength to strength since the release of their latest album…

Psychedelic Porn Crumpet

There’s no arguing that Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have had an incredible 2019. Since the powerful release of their ambitious and acclaimed third studio album, And Now For The Whatchamacallit,  they’ve been on the road nonstop.

Embarking in March, the band have taken their riotous live show across the world; including their first ever US headline tour, a sold out run across the UK and Europe (including a triumphant night at London’s Electric Ballroom), as well as their native Australia and beyond, on top of cramming in plenty of packed festival shows, dates with Royal Blood and one of KEXP’s most popular sessions this year.

And Now For The Whatchamacallit is a culmination of experiences lived on the road and influences stemming from the last few years of chaos for the band.

Yesterday, the band saw the year out with an animated video for Dezi’s Adventure; a wormhole of a track which brings the fairground chaos of And Now For The Whatchamacallit to a meditative close. Animated by Mike Wyatt (Attack Animation), the video’s intricate technicolour adventure captures a reflective and wide-eyed view of the world evoked in Dezi’s Adventure.

Hailing from the same homeland as psych-rock contemporaries Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and POND, the release of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ And Now For The Whatchamacallit marks an exciting chapter for the band that sets them apart from the crowd. Recorded between Jack McEwan’s bedroom and Tone City Studios in Perth, mixed by Michael Jelinek (Gunns) and mastered by John Davis (Gorillaz, The Killers), And Now For The Whatchamacallit is representative of the band’s huge developed sound and even loftier ambitions.
