Rare Sex Pistols 7" breaks sales record on Discogs

Discogs has confirmed that the Most Expensive Item Sold for November 2018 is the Sex Pistols’ God Save The Queen unreleased A&M Records 7″ which sold for $15,882 USD, breaking the Most Expensive Items Sold record for a 7″ held by The Beatles’ Love Me Do, which went for $14,757 in March 2018. Genuine original pressings of God Save The Queen have the serrated anti-slip necklace and 7284 written twice on the B-Side runout, one above the other.

Sex Pistols originally signed to A&M Records, and 25,000 copies of God Save The Queen were pressed before A&M’s Herb Alpert reportedly destroyed the band’s recording contract six days after signing. The A&M Records pressing of God Save The Queen remains one of the rarest punk records of all-time.
