Team Long Live Vinyl is heading back to the Netherlands this Autumn for the World’s biggest record fair in Utrecht. The fair coincides with Le Guess Who Festival, so there’s really only one place to be on this otherwise quiet weekend in November!
The 48th Mega Record & CD Fair takes place in Utrecht on Saturday and Sunday 11th & 12th November 2017 – attracting more than 500 record sellers, record industry reps and thousands of record buyers from across Europe and beyond.
With cheap flights from UK airports to Amsterdam via EasyJet and other budget airlines and a half hour direct train ride from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht central, it’s an easy and very worthwhile journey to make.
Taking over 12.500 square metres of floor space at Jaarbeurs, we were delighted to experience this unique event earlier this year (read our full feature here) and cannot wait to return. Records cover older releases and bootlegs as well as new music and rare finds.
Combine this with pop quizzes, book presentations, record launches, live performances and other activities too. This Autumn the fair will celebrate Elvis and his female competitors from the fifties and sixties with an informative exhibition.
Come and find us on the Long Live Vinyl stall, where you can pick up the latest copy of the magazine and find out more about what we’re up to.
And for when you’re not crate digging (the fair is open 9am-5pm Saturday and 10am-5pm Sunday), Le Guess Who? festival returns with over 100 bands and musicians playing in venues across the city from Thursday 9th November until Sunday 12th November – think theatres, churches, galleries and warehouses.
Acts confirmed for the event include Perfume Genius, James Holden, Thurston Moore, Aldous Harding, Mount Eerie, Grouper, William Basinski, Shabazz Palaces, tUnEyArDs, Meredith Graves, Sun Kil Moon, Julie Byrne, Weyes Blood, Mary Margaret O’Hara, Pharmakon and more. Don’t be surprised if you see your favourite artist crate digging at the Mega Record and Cd Fair.
