The Queen Is Dead Goes To #1 On All Three Vinyl Singles Charts

When many of you may have been enjoying the delights of Glasto last Friday, The Smiths made a triumphant return to the singles chart for the first time in 22 years with the reissue of ‘The Queen Is Dead’…

Marking the 31st anniversary of the release of the track’s parent album, the special vinyl reissue of ‘The Queen Is Dead’ went straight to #1 on the 7″ singles, 12″ singles and the overall vinyl single charts.

It should come as no surprise that the limited edition release sold out almost immediately. The 7″ single featured ‘I Keep Mine Hidden’ on its B-side, whilst the 12″ included ‘Oscillate Wildly’, ‘Money Changes Everything’ and ‘The Draize Train’.
With the success of both ‘The Queen Is Dead’ and the RSD special ‘The Boy With A Thorn In His Side’, we hope to see more limited edition vinyl releases from The Smiths in the near future. Just be sure to keep your finger on the pulse if you want one.
