Secret 7" exhibition returning for final year

NOW Gallery, Greenwich Peninsula’s cultural platform for exciting design, art and fashion exhibitors, has announced that it will be hosting the seventh and final Secret 7″ exhibition.

Secret 7"

Secret 7″, the much-loved anonymous charity record sleeve sale will return for its seventh event following a hiatus in 2019. Previously hosted on The Jetty on Greenwich Peninsula in 2018, this year’s Secret 7″ is returning for its final year by transforming the NOW Gallery space with a display of its 700 records each with individual sleeve designs.

These 700 records are created by pressing seven iconic tracks onto 7″ vinyl, with each being limited to just 100 copies. Creatives around the world – from talented newcomers to renowned artists – submit sleeve artwork for the 700 records creating one-of-a-kind collectables that appeal to hardcore fans, record collectors and art connoisseurs alike. Sleeve design submissions are now open and will be open until 10 March.
The 700 records will be exhibited at the NOW Gallery before they are made available to buy. The identities of their creators remain a secret until the record is in their new owner’s hands.
Secret 7″ was founded by Kevin King and Jordan Stokes in 2012. Since then, Secret 7″ has grown from being a new initiative to a project that has made a huge cultural and charitable impact, raising over £215,00 for great causes. In previous years, participating musicians have included The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Lorde and Public Enemy, whilst artwork has been provided by Sir Peter Blake, Yoko Ono, Sir Paul Smith and Jake and Dinos Chapman.
The 2020 tracks span a variety of genres and 54 years of Colombia Records history. They are as follows:
Aretha Franklin – One Step Ahead
Bob Dylan – Blind Willie McTell
Foo Fighters – This Is A Call
The Internet – Come Over
Koffee – Toast
Miles Davis – Miles Runs The Voodoo Down
Vampire Weekend – Harmony Hall
